On July 10, Northumberland Hills Stitchery Guild ladies all gathered at a lovely venue about 40 kms east of Cobourg in the town of Brighton.
The bulk of members sat in a long, air-conditioned room and about six or seven of us sat on the covered deck outside. Knowledge & Needles entertains all kinds of sewing retreats. Some are groups are guilds and are not part of a formal group.
The owner of Knowledge & Needles is Ann McDonald (retired teacher and this is her hobby). It’s a smallish store but packed with the goodies all we stitchers need and use. Ann does mail orders and supplies mainly cross-stitch patterns, threads and linens (check her website). She is one of few sources east of Toronto, and that’s really helpful to know.
Knowledge and Needles is located at:
190 Smith Street, Brighton, ON K0K 1H0
613-475-4843 or balych@kos.net
The shop is normally open from noon to 6 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday, from May until November.
Thank you to Sheila McCoy for sending along this report!
It would have been helpful to include a link to the website.
